Adoption Day

Cate is doing great. She is a smart, funny, sweet little girl. She is full of energy! Although, poor thing, we have pretty much been confined to our room here. Today Jane took us back to the Civil Affairs office where we finished our paperwork here in Hefei. Everything went very smoothly. We will leave here tomorrow at 2:00 for Guangzhou. We are ready. We do know that Cate is scared of water. She will not even go near the fountain in the lobby. Today, Jane helped me give her a bath and talked her through it. I was very grateful. We will definitely have to work on this because our family loves the water! Here are some pictures from today.

Kim,
Congratulations on officially becoming Cate's mama!!

I knew you'd have her hair up in a pretty bow! :) Don't you and Sophie just love having all of that hair to style?

Wonderful to see that things are going so well. Hoping the rains will stop in GZ so that you can enjoy your time there.

Hugs,
Sharon

P.S. The girls had clogging last night and Brinley had her pictures of Cate with her. Everyone was looking at them and saying how adorable she is and that they are so happy for you!

Congratulations!!!! Now Cate is officially a member of you family - what a happy day!

Are you going to get to visit the orphanage? That was a special trip for us - when we got to meet Cate ourselves.

Cate is so beautiful...is her hair really as thick as it looks?? It is just gorgeous! You all look so happy...funny how all this waiting slips from your mind at this point, doesn't it??

Enjoy the rest of you time in Cate's province.

We ordered the Wheelie Bug from Music For Little People (.com), and it shipped really fast. Order the "large"...it is perfect for Lucy, and I have a feeling Cate is about the same size!

I am glad I told you size 7 shoes were too big for Lucy, so you have 6's that fit :)

Busy girl huh?? She will keep you busy!!

Hugs to you!

Hey Miss Kim,
How cute is Cate. I don't know if you've talked to Rion yet, but they beat Wilson Hall last night(Wedsesday). Just thought I'd give you some Calhoun News. And we have a game tonight in Holly Hill. Well enjoy the rest of your trip. See ya when you get back. Have a safe trip home.
Love always,
Hayley

I went back and looked at the pictures again (and again, and again!). The smile on Cate's face is just beautiful. Seems like she knows she's where she belongs - with her Momma!

Oh My Gosh,
She is a cutie pie! I printed the pictures at school. Pressley was so excited because he had not seen them yet. I hope you weren't saving them for something special. He is so glad to be going home with Bates tomorrow. He told me first thing this morning that he would be riding with Bates on Friday. But "my George" is picking me up today. He is counting down the days until you come home. Cate is absolutely precious. She looks like she has been with your family forever. It was just meant to be and you can tell from the pictures.
Enjoy every moment!!!
Love,
Kristin

Kim:

Several of the children in our group were afraid of the water too. You could hear screams down the hotel corridor at bathtime! I got in the tub and sat Erica on my lap for her first couple of baths and she never had a problem. Sophie would probably enjoy helping Miss Cate with this.

Safe travels home,
Jacque
