My favorite passages

Do not be afraid, for I will bring your children from the East and gather you from the West. Isaiah 43:5

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3

Children are a gift from God, thay are a reward from him. Psalms 127:3

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gifts! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. James 4:8

For God has said, I will never leave you, I will never abandon you. Hebrews 13:5

These are some of my favorites- there are many others I look to for encouragement, hope, and praise. One of my all time favorites though is, "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Joshua 24:15 .The older I have become and the longer we have become a family, I know how important it is that we spend time each day with God as a family and to pray for one another and others. It's so hard in this crazy, busy life, but it's really why we're here, you know? To love others. Please keep Cate in your prayers. I pray for her leg, and that she will adjust to us quickly!

Dear Kim,
We don't know each other. Your blog link was on one of my China famlies' yahoo groups. I had watched Cate's sweet video when IAAP was advocating for her.
Our newly adopted son has the same SN, only his leg is not only bigger than the other, but longer as well. We adopted him in August- He turned 2 in November and after seeing a pediatric othopedic specialist- he has been given a clean bill of health! We go back in a year but in all likelihood, will not have to intevene at ALL until he is finished growing!
Just wanted to encourage you that this special need is SO easily managed. I don't know your story- how the Lord called you to Cate, but I would love to sometime! Perhaps you will blog about it one day! I will check back.
Please feel free to email me if you would like to see our private blog chronicling our journey to China and back.
