Our weekend

Seth, Sophie, Gabe, Rion, and Pressley-They had a ball together!
Pressley and his best friend Seth. They have been the best of buds for 5 of their almost 7 years!

Rion, Sophie and Pressley had a lemonade stand and donated the money they made to an orphanage in China. I was very proud of them. They made $63!

This weekend Greg and I went to Daufuskie Island- an island that is between Hilton Head and Savannah. You board a ferry to get there and that is the only way on and off the island. It is very secluded and quiet! We toured the island by golf cart, and saw lots of wildlife- alligators, deer, horseshoe crabs... It was so much fun and Oh, so relaxing! My parents kept our children and so we knew that they were having a great time too (the children that is!) I thought I took more pictures, but I forget to pull out the camera when it's just us! Last week was VERY busy- my best friend moved away last summer and her boys and my boys were very good friends, so the boys spent last week with us. We went to the water park, saw Indiana Jones, ate out alot(it was much easier keeping 4 boys out of the house rather than in!), and went to the pool every day.

I am of course praying that this week brings our LOA. Please pray for us that we will be traveling for Cate soon. It's funny how I thought of so many things like... By then we will have LOA, or when we go there, we will be home with Cate, or getting ready to travel... And already many things have passed with no news still. Today marks day 85. I never thought it would take so long. But I set myself up for this. I really forget to let God have control of our adoption. I want Him to have it, and yet I want Cate right now. This has been so hard, and I am not a very good student. I read this at the bottom of an email this past week, and I really needed to hear it-

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. I love that.

I love the "diving in" picture!

And way to go kids- what a mission-minded family you are!

What a GREAT weekend!! I'll bet it was so nice to get away...just the two of you! Okay, I've never heard of Daufuskie Island! But it sure sounds fun (ferry, golf cart...my kind of getaway)!! I'll bet the kids had a great time too! You've got to be getting that LOA soon! Ours came almost 90days exactly from our LID! I'm thinking of you and you're in my prayers! Hang in there!!

Kim,
I love the pictures! It's great to see Seth & Gabe again! They look like they have both grown a lot! Brice sure misses having them here next door to us this summer!

You are getting there, Kim. Everyday you are closer, closer, closer to Cate. I just can't wait till I hear the shouts coming from down the road..."LOA!!!!"

Glad you and Greg had a chance to get away. Sounds like a great place! You'll have to tell me more about it.

Call me if you need to talk! You'll get through this wait!

Hugs!
Sharon

Hi,

I just saw your post on Dawn's blog and I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. It is such a tragic thing to lose a loved one. I too think the baloon thing is a great idea- very cathartic.

Anyway, I see you are waiting on your LOA-- you poor thing. It is such a long wait for many. We adpted our daughter Mia from Hunan China (NSN) in May 07. She is now 20 months and is just an amazing little girl. I also have 2 boys (bio) and we live a pretty busy life-- looks like you do also.

Anyway, I was moved by your comment and wanted to write.

Hugs,

Christy :)

Just found your blog from a post you made on RQ. We are on Day 72 here so I cannot imagine your wait. Our little girl is in the hospital we found out so that is about to make me crazy. I am having a hard time the last couple of days. Thanks for sharing the Scriptures you did. I am guessing your Cate is about the same age as our daughter waiting in China. How awesome that you have the video! She looks like she is well. Our daughter's orphanage won't allow video or photos of the children. :( Well thanks for your perspective and for sharing your heartfelt feelings. I need to learn to do that more.
