O.K., it's no new news that I am very computer illiterate. ( Sharon, can I get an Amen!) IF there is a link to a video above this post, it's one that really hits home for us. It's by Matthew West and it's the story behind his new song, One Less. When we began our adoption for Cate, we had no idea what was in store for us or how richly our lives would be blessed. We just truly felt called to adopt this little girl. Along our journey, our eyes were opened to orphans, and just how many there were. And it's very true what David Platt wrote in his book, Radical- "... orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes."
We are adopting again. I know, we have only been home for four months with Cai. I know, we have five children. And I know we can't provide a home to all of the orphans. But we will be a family to three of them.
She is 13 years old and very well may be 14 when we bring her home. When children turn 14 in China, they are no longer considered "adoptable" (i'm not sure if that's a word!) For the past year, we have prayed for these children that were so close to "aging out". But God placed something on our hearts- we can do more than just pray, we can act. It's kinda strange to think that she may only be with us for four or five years before she starts college! But, she will always have a family to come home to, a family who loves her very much.

I am so happy for you and your family. I have to ask, is it Helen? I only ask because I tried to adopt her too.
Oh my goodness! I'm amazed, inspired, and completely and totally jealous of your courage! We've been talking about going back for one more child but are afraid to commit, scared we can't handle another adoption and completely wimpy that God put something on our hearts that we think we can't handle.
Thank you, Kim, for being my hero!
Teresa =)

Brice was getting his hair cut this week and someone asked if we knew you when we were talking about adoption. I said, "Yeah! Kim and I are friends! There is a little group of us here in town who have kids from China and we are all friends." I was just waiting on Brice to blurt out, "Mrs Kim is adopting again!!!" but he didn't! He's learned to keep things to himself when it comes to adoptions! LOL
Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL and we can not wait to welcome her home!
...and you are not computer illiterate. You're just learning! ;)
Love y'all!
Stumbled across your blog. Congratulations on your newest daughter! I will be praying for your journey to her!!
Your family is beautiful!! Cai is a sweetie! I'll be praying for wisdom during her medical journey!! We are embarking on a similar one!
Blessings, stacy
Kim,
You know I am just thrilled for you and your family. What a wonderful addition she will make to your family. I am so excited to follow your journey.
I am so very happy for you, but more importantly I admire you and Greg for truly answering the call of God. I can not wait to follow your journey this time as I will NOT be in the midst of my own adoption journey. For once, we will not be in China at the same time yet never being in the same city. I can watch from my home sweet home!
Kim,
This is the best news! I'm so happy for your family! I know you will be blessed, and your new daughter will be truly blessed to be part of your family!
Hope Cai is doing well!
Blessings,
Tammy
